Morgan Schmidt has been photographing feature-length films and commercials for thirteen years, providing an edgy and modern look to his work. Morgan's visual sensibility derives from his Hollywood training and mastery of high-end lighting techniques.   

Morgan has shot 12 feature length films around the world. His films have screened at dozens of film festivals on four continents. In 2019 his action film ‘Furie’ filmed in Vietnam broke box office records there and was released worldwide. He earned a ‘Best Cinematography’ award in 2010 for his work on Touch, a family drama set in a Los Angeles nail salon. Other prominent credits include: Level 26 a series for CSI creator Anthony Zuiker; and “Gimme Shelter” (2014) starring Vanessa Hudgens.

Morgan brings deep expertise in television commercial production. He specializes in shooting high-adrenaline and high-speed (slow motion) commercials for sports and automotive brands such as Red Bull, Asics, SKLZ, Shelby Automobiles and Aston Martin/ESX. Other prominent commercial clients include:  IKEA, Samsung, Verizon and Gearbox / Borderlands Games.

Morgan received his BA from Harvard University, where he studied biology and fine-art photography.
